In these first 13 verses, what do we learn about the mystery of Christ?

Praying in the name of Jesus doesn’t just mean using the formula. It means that we come to god in an attitude of dependence upon Jesus, not a dependence on our own merits. That’s at the heart of what that means. But I do think that using the phrase in the name of Jesus signals our dependence on the merits of Jesus, rather than our, on our own merits. And I think that is a wonderful thing to include in our prayers.
